Suit against irrigation district is dropped

Borderland Thursday, February 10, 2005
The El Paso Public Service Board voted Wednesday to drop the lawsuit it filed in 2001 against the El Paso County Water Improvement District No. 1.

The PSB, which oversees El Paso Water Utilities, accused the irrigation district of forcing the city to pay the highest water rates in the state and of refusing to sell billions of gallons of excess water that, in a normal year, flows down canals and the Rio Grande into Hudspeth County.
